Privacy Policy

Noetica ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you use noeticaapps.com and our apps (the "Services"). It is written to comply with the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), and Connecticut (CTDPA) consumer privacy laws, and the EU / UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / UK-GDPR).

1. Information we collect

  • You provide: name, email, messages, waitlist sign-ups, and content you enter into our apps (e.g. birth date for Cosmic Compass, journal entries in Psyche Weaver, conversation snippets in Convo Coach).
  • Automatically: device type, browser, IP address, basic usage analytics (only with your consent in regions where consent is required).

  • Sensitive personal information (CCPA/CPRA & GDPR Art. 9): some app inputs (e.g. journal entries, free-text reflections) may include emotional, mental-health, or other sensitive content. We process this only to provide the requested feature, never for advertising or profiling.

2. How we use information

  • Operate, secure, and improve the Services.
  • Respond to inquiries and send transactional or newsletter emails (newsletter only with consent).
  • Personalize app experiences (e.g. readings, lessons, AI-assisted feedback).
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

3. Legal bases (GDPR / UK-GDPR)

We rely on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:
  • Performance of a contract — to deliver the Services you request.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Services, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — for newsletter emails and optional analytics; you may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — when required by applicable law.
Where we process special-category data (Article 9), we rely on your explicit consent.

4. We do not sell your personal data

Noetica does not sell personal data and does not engage in targeted advertising or "sharing" as defined under CCPA/CPRA. We do not engage in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Sharing & sub-processors

We share data only with vetted service providers (sub-processors) who are contractually bound to protect it, or when required by law:
  • Lovable Cloud — managed hosting, database, authentication.
  • Lovable AI Gateway — AI inference for in-app generative features.
We do not authorize sub-processors to use your data for their own purposes or to train third-party models on your private content.

6. International data transfers

Our Services are hosted in the United States. If you access them from the EU, UK, or elsewhere outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and equivalent UK IDTA / Addendum mechanisms with our processors.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described, or as required by law. Typical periods:
  • Contact form submissions — up to 24 months.
  • Newsletter / waitlist — until you unsubscribe.
  • Account & in-app content — for the life of your account; deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
  • Backups — rotated within 30 days of deletion.
  • Records we are legally required to keep (e.g. tax) — per applicable law.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, server-side access controls, and least-privilege service accounts. No system is perfectly secure; please use strong, unique passwords and protect your account.

9. Your Utah privacy rights (UCPA)

If you are a Utah resident, you have the right to:
  • Confirm whether we process your personal data and access it.
  • Delete personal data you provided to us.
  • Obtain a portable copy of personal data you provided.
  • Opt out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising (we do neither, but you may still send the request).
We respond within 45 days as required by Utah law.

10. Your California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purpose, and the third parties with whom we share it.
  • Delete personal information we have collected about you (subject to exceptions).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information to that which is necessary to perform the requested service.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your rights.
You may submit requests by emailing info@noeticaapps.org with the subject "California Privacy Request." Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization. We respond within 45 days (extendable by 45 days where permitted).

11. Other US state rights (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut)

If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, or Connecticut, you have rights similar to California's: confirm/access, correct, delete, data portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising / sale / certain profiling. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@noeticaapps.org. We respond within 45 days. You may appeal a denial by replying to our response with the subject "Privacy Appeal."

12. Your rights in the EU / UK (GDPR / UK-GDPR)

If you are in the EU, UK, EEA, or Switzerland, you have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g. your national data-protection authority, or the UK ICO).
We respond to verified requests within 30 days. We are below the threshold that requires a designated EU representative under Article 27 GDPR; we will appoint one if our processing scope changes.

13. Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (COPPA). Some apps contain spiritual or mature content not appropriate for users under 18. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

14. App Store & Google Play disclosures

For users who download our apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the following data categories may be collected and linked to your identity: contact info (name, email), user content (journal entries, app inputs, birth data), identifiers (account ID), and usage data (app interactions, diagnostics). Data is used for app functionality, personalization, and analytics. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.

Account & data deletion: You may delete your account and all associated data at any time at /account-deletion or by emailing info@noeticaapps.org. Per-app data and permission disclosures are linked from /legal.

15. AI features

Some Noetica apps use generative AI to produce text or other output. Outputs are probabilistic, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are not professional advice. We do not allow our AI inference providers to train third-party foundation models on your private content.

16. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the website (and by email where we have a contractual relationship). Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
